But you can stand in the field where storms gather, at the hour when the air turns electric, wearing the right shoes, holding the right rod. The text's approach to creative inspiration operates on precisely this principle: "While we can't command a lightning bolt's arrival, we can control the space around it. We accomplish this by preparing beforehand and honoring our obligation to it afterward." This is not mysticism dressed in studio jargon.
