convert-above-fold

Featured

Engineer above-fold hierarchy for direct-response pages: 5-second comprehension test, hero rhythm, primary CTA placement, and visual scaffolding for the Four-Layer Open. Produces a wireframe spec + paste-ready HTML/CSS for the first viewport. Use when designing or rebuilding the top-of-page that must answer "what / who / next" in five seconds while seating Layer 1 (Nerve Strike) of the Open. Not for full-page sales-page assembly (use /convert sales-page) and not for live-URL teardown (use /market landing).

# Convert Above-Fold - Hero Hierarchy Engineered for the Four-Layer Open > *"Your opening has one job: make them keep reading."* - The Donahoe Method, Framework 1 The first viewport is where the Method either lands or dies. This skill engineers the above-fold zone so the visual hierarchy *carries* Layer 1 (Nerve Strike) of the Four-Layer Open and points the reader straight into Layer 2 (Side Door). Every pixel above the fold is in service of "make them keep reading." ## When to Use Trigger phrases: "above the fold", "above-fold hero", "hero section design", "first viewport", "5 second test", "donahoe above fold", "what who next", `/convert above-fold <product>`. Use when: - Designing or rebuilding the hero zone of a sales page, VSL page, squeeze page, or lead-magnet page - The reader currently fails the 5-second test ("what is this / who is it for / what do I do") - The headline is right but the visual hierarchy is suffocating it - Mobile and desktop hero need to be specced together (this skill handles both) Do NOT use for: - Full sales-page assembly - use `/convert sales-page` - Auditing an existing live page - use `/market landing <url>` - Generating only the headline copy - use `/convert open` (Layer 1 lives there) - Scroll mechanics below the fold - use `/convert scroll-rhythm` ## The Five-Second Test (Krug, popularized 2000) A first-time visitor must, within five seconds, be able to answer three questions cold: 1. **What is this?** - the product/offer/promise 2....

convert-sales-page

Author long-form direct-response sales pages: section architecture, full body copy, paste-ready HTML/CSS, and Method audit footer. Applies The Donahoe Method top-to-bottom across 16 sections. Use when the user has a product and needs a complete sales page built from a brief - not a teardown of an existing URL. Not for auditing live URLs (use /market landing) or rewriting existing copy (use /convert rewrite). For squeeze/opt-in pages use /convert squeeze.

landing-page-cro-expert

Audits and rewrites landing pages, homepages, and sales pages to increase conversion — diagnosing why a page is not converting, rewriting headlines, hero copy and calls to action, and prioritizing which changes to test first. Use this when a page underperforms, when someone pastes a URL or screenshot asking what is wrong, when writing a new page, or when deciding which conversion changes are worth testing.

convert-scroll-rhythm

Orchestrate scroll depth across a long-form direct-response page: map zones to The Three Locks (Want → Trust → Excuse), engineer reading-pattern flow (F-pattern body / Z-pattern hero), place CTA anchors at decision points, and pace section transitions for The Greased Chute. Use when designing the visual flow of a sales page, VSL page, or long bridge page where each scroll position must serve a specific Method lock. Not for hero-only spec (use /convert above-fold) and not for short single-purpose pages (use /convert squeeze).
