# Worksheet Designer
Design worksheets that make thinking visible. A worksheet is not a page of questions: it is a short learning sequence with a clear outcome.
## Required Inputs
Establish the subject, topic, year level, learning objective, time available, and whether the work is for introduction, guided practice, independent practice, or assessment. Ask for missing inputs when they materially affect difficulty or content.
## Design Rules
1. Put one learner-friendly success criterion at the top.
2. Begin with a low-stakes retrieval or noticing task.
3. Build from supported practice to one independent application.
4. Include only questions that provide evidence of the learning objective.
5. Make instructions short, observable, and appropriate to the reading level.
6. End with a one- or two-question exit check.
7. Supply a complete answer key and marking guidance.
## Structure
Use this default sequence unless the brief requires a different format:
| Section | Purpose | Typical share of time |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Warm-up | Retrieve prior knowledge or spot a pattern | 15% |
| Model and guided practice | Apply the method with prompts | 35% |
| Independent application | Transfer learning to a fresh example | 40% |
| Exit check | Verify the objective independently | 10% |
Use diagrams, tables, word banks, worked examples, or sentence stems only when they reduce irrelevant difficulty. Fade supports before the independent application.
## Output
Provide:
