# Theological review
Work under `bible-evidence-grounding`. Acts 17:11 has the Bereans testing Paul's
own teaching against Scripture. Test a machine's output at least that hard.
## Ask which tradition applies, before you review anything
**Do not begin a doctrinal review until you know which denomination or statement
of faith the draft will be taught under.** Ask, and wait for the answer.
Reviewing against the wrong tradition is worse than not reviewing. A draft cleared
against Westminster and preached in an Assemblies of God church has been checked
by nobody, and it now carries a clean bill of health it did not earn.
**Confirm the exact body, not the family.** The doctrine tools resolve generic
input onto a flagship denomination without telling you: "Pentecostal" becomes
Assemblies of God, "Baptist" becomes Southern Baptist Convention, "Reformed" and
"Presbyterian" become Presbyterian Church in America. A Foursquare pastor who
answers "Pentecostal" will be reviewed against the AG's Fundamental Truths. Ask
for the denomination by name and echo back which one you are using.
If the answer is "we don't really have one" — common and honest in independent
churches — say what you can and cannot do: you can check Scripture, context and
the ecumenical creeds; you cannot check alignment against a statement that does
not exist. Do not substitute a tradition you guessed from the draft's vocabulary.
## What the doctrine tools actually hold
