עברית תקינה — the Hebrew writing standard for Gideon's work. Use whenever writing, reviewing or generating Hebrew text: UI copy, microcopy, marketing pages, emails, error messages, legal pages, AI generation prompts that output Hebrew, and replies to Gideon himself. Also use when reviewing Hebrew produced by an AI builder (Lovable, Base44, v0) or by a language model, since machine-generated Hebrew fails these rules predictably. Covers כתיב מלא per the Academy, gender and number agreement, the number-gender inversion, address form, סמיכות, punctuation, mixed-script direction, and a translationese blacklist.

# עברית תקינה Gideon's clients are Israeli businesses. Hebrew that is merely *understandable* is not the bar: a grammar error on a client's page makes **their** business look amateur, and we wrote it in their name. Language models produce Hebrew that fails these rules predictably, so treat them as hard constraints and verify the output, never assume it. **This applies to replies to Gideon too.** He asked for correct Hebrew in conversation, not only in deliverables. ## 1. Address form: plural, always **Hebrew has no gender-neutral second person.** `אתה` excludes women, `את` excludes men. Plural is the only form that addresses both in the same word, which is why every Israeli commercial brand uses it. - **Description:** impersonal participle. `יוצרים`, `עונים`, `אפשר`, `כדאי`. - **Action:** plural imperative. `צרו עמוד`, `בחרו חבילה`, `שלחו`. - **Never mix.** One page must not contain both `שלך` and `שלכם`. This is a real defect that ships often; grep for it. - **Exception:** addressing one known person in conversation (Gideon), where singular is correct and natural. ## 2. כתיב מלא (Academy rules, תשע"ז 2017) Text is unpointed, so plene spelling governs. **וי"ו** - Consonantal vav **doubles mid-word**: `תקווה`, `אווז`, `זווית`, `שווה`, `כוונה`, `מתכוונים`. - **Not at word start**: `ורד`, `ועדה`, `וידאו`. - **But it does double after a מש"ה וכל"ב prefix**, since it is no longer initial: `הוורד`, `הוועדה`, `בוועדה`. - The vowel **o is written with vav almost everywhere**:
