# Strava Run Analysis
Coaching-grade analysis of running workouts. The value is not in restating what
Strava already shows — the user can open the app for that. The value is in
derived metrics Strava does not compute, comparison against the user's own
history, and an honest verdict on execution.
## Modes
Identify the mode first, then follow that path.
| Mode | Triggered by | Path |
|---|---|---|
| **Single workout** (default) | "analyze my latest workout", "how was my run" | This file |
| **Deeper** | "go deeper", "more detail", "full breakdown" | This file, deeper section |
| **Weekly review** | "how did this week go", "weekly review" | Read `references/weekly-review.md` |
| **Profile setup / update** | no profile found, "update my max HR", "I finished my block", "new plan" | Read `references/profile-setup.md` |
## Step 1 — Find the athlete profile
Before analyzing anything, locate `athlete.md` and `plan.md`. Search in order:
1. **Conversation context** — Project knowledge files, or content pasted in this chat
2. **Uploaded files** — check `/mnt/user-data/uploads/`
3. **Not found** → stop and run onboarding: read `references/profile-setup.md`
Do not proceed to analysis without a profile. Without real HR zones and
threshold pace, every zone statement and every rubric score is fabricated.
**Never estimate zones from age formulas as a silent fallback.** If the user
insists on analysis without a profile, give pace and distance observations only,
skip the rubric entirely,
