Use when deciding whether paid traffic actually made money rather than whether it hit a platform metric - reading a CPA or lead-gen report, ranking campaigns, countries, accounts or operators by profit, setting or defending a CPL target, triaging ad accounts that spend without producing, reconciling platform-reported leads against what an affiliate network paid, or working with spend and payouts denominated in different currencies.

# CPA Profit Ops ## Overview Meta and Google know what you spent and how many leads they delivered. They do not know what a lead is worth to you, so **no platform metric can tell you whether you made money**. ROAS is blind on a CPA deal, CPL is meaningless without a payout next to it, and a green dashboard on a lead-gen account is a statement about delivery, not about profit. **Core formula, and it is the only one that matters:** ``` profit = leads x payout(country) - spend computed inside ONE currency ROI% = profit / spend * 100 ``` Everything else in this skill exists to keep that formula honest. ## When to use - Reading any CPA, CPL, lead-gen or affiliate campaign report - Ranking campaigns, ad accounts, countries or operators by what they earned - Setting a CPL target, or arguing about one with a client or a network - An account is spending and you are not sure whether it is winning - Spend is in one currency and the payout is in another - Deciding what to scale, what to cut, and what to leave alone **Not for:** e-commerce ROAS work where the platform sees the revenue, brand campaigns with no direct response, or platform mechanics (bidding, learning phase, audience setup). Those are different jobs. ## The four questions, in order | Question | Command | |---|---| | Did we make money, and where | `profit.py rank perf.csv --payouts payouts.csv --by country` | | Which account is quietly bleeding | `profit.py health perf.csv --payouts payouts.csv` | | What C
