# QECTOR Core - Verified Platform Facts
Ground every answer in the verified facts below. If a request references a
tool, decoder, or API that is not listed here or in
`references/qector_verified_api.md`, say "not verified in this package" rather
than inventing behavior. All mathematical claims must satisfy the rules in
`skills/qector-math-foundations` (strict ground truth).
## Two first-class surfaces - both fully valid, independently
1. **qector-decoder-v3 - library only, NO app required.** `pip install
qector-decoder-v3`. Full tool surface via `mcp/mcp_server_library.py`
(library MCP server: list_code_families, list_decoders, get_license_info,
decode_syndrome, decode_single, threshold_sweep, build_code_from_matrix,
compat_report). Valid alone; this is the preferred development path.
2. **QECTOR Workbench MCP server - optional 82-tool extension.** Desktop app;
launch headless `QectorWorkbench-Portable.exe --mcp`. Verified live
2026-08-15 (evidence: `evidence/workbench_mcp_live_session_2026-08-15.json`).
Adds Workbench-only tools (import_stim, build_dem, run_benchmark, licensing
tier gates, telemetry). Fully optional: nothing about the library surface
depends on it.
## Verified wire facts (live, 2026-08-15)
- Library server: 8 tools, mcp>=2.0.0 (mcp.server.mcpserver.MCPServer; FastMCP
was removed in mcp 2.0.0). See `mcp/VALIDATION_REPORT.md`.
- Workbench: `initialize` -> `qector-workbench` 1.0.0, protocol 2024-11-05;
`mcp_status` -> 82 tool
