# Analytics Briefs
Turns Shopify (and, if connected, Meta and Google Analytics) data into short, plain-English performance briefs — a daily snapshot, or a root-cause answer when a number moved.
## When to use
- User wants a recurring or one-off summary of revenue, orders, AOV, or conversion rate
- User asks why revenue, orders, or AOV moved, up or down
- User says things like "give me the morning brief," "how did we do yesterday," or "why did revenue drop this week"
## What you'll need
- Shopify store connected
- Optional: Meta ads and/or Google Analytics connected, for fuller context on traffic-driven changes
- The baseline to compare against — yesterday, last week, same day last year
- For root-cause questions: the specific period and metric the user is worried about
## How to do it
1. Connect to Shopify (and Meta/Google Analytics if connected) and pull orders, revenue, AOV, conversion rate, and traffic for the requested period.
2. For a routine brief: compare the period against the user's chosen baseline, call out only the two or three numbers that moved most, and write it as a short brief a person can read in under a minute — not a data dump.
3. For a "why did this move" question: break the change down by channel, product, and customer cohort (new versus returning). Check for an obvious cause — a paused ad campaign, an out-of-stock best-seller, a broken discount code, a site or checkout issue. Report the likely driver in plain language with the numbers that support it
